Office Information Montour County is an 8th Class county with approximately 8,200 parcels.
The records for all properties in Montour County are kept in the Assessment Office. Property record cards indicate the assessed value, lot size or acreage, the size of any buildings on the property, owners name, address and the parcel identification number. The assessed value is the figure used to calculate real estate taxes by taking the millage times the assessed value.
County and borough/township real estate and per capita taxes are sent in March and school real estate taxes are sent in July.
We keep the occupational and per capita records in our office. The field assessor goes door to door to collect this information.

This application is available by calling the Danville Area School District at 570-271-3268 at Ext. 1030. If you live in the Warrior Run School District you may call 570-649-5138. The deadline to apply is March 1st of each year.
If you have already applied you do not need to reapply.
